During winter 2015-16, Elyssa Shalla and Matt Jenkins completed a self-supported, thru-hike of the Grand Canyon from Pearce Ferry to Lees Ferry over a month and a half. Their hike was entirely on the north side of the Colorado River. What follows is a narrative of the story and the people that inspired the hike.
